We deviated from the 2009 route in three ways. To begin I had mapped out a shorter route to our first stop, Medina, just in case the train was grossly late. I didn't expect an 8 hour delay like the one we experience the last time we were on the same train. But even so. As it turned out, we did take the alternative, going diagonally NE from Depew to Medina, making use of the very nice Clarence Pathway bike trail.
