Day 3: Grein to Emmersdorf - across from Melk (30 mi)

The bike path continues on the right bank (opposite side). The bike ferry near the ship landing had a long line, so we backtracked a little over a mile to a bridge.
Approaching Grein - again
Grein
As you approach Ypps you have a choice of continuing on the right bank or crossing the river to Persenbeug via a power plant dam. Since we had been to Ypps twice, including spending the night, we chose Persenbeug.
As soon as you leave Persenbeug the Danube makes a big U turn. Inside the U there are several choices of country roads through farm country.
More farmland with the pretentiously named village of Gottsdorf in the background.
Back to the river
A real nice lunch stop in Klein-Pöchlarn.
Ruine Weitenegg. I thought about climbing the hill to explore it, but Jeanine nixed that.
We reached Emmersdorf long before the MS Diana, giving us time to explore the town and get in some extra miles.
Docked for the night about a mile downstream from the center of Emmersdorf, across from Melk.
